Tooth Fairy Strike

Due to the dollar/Euro exchange rate, the Tooth Fairy has gone on strike.

If you give Denise some M & Ms she'll...

...want to make cookies.  My parents sent over some Easter style M & Ms with instructions saying some assembly is required.  I went a little rogue this time and made peanut butter cookies.  Yummy!

You've got to start them young

Don't worry, not breaking any child labor laws here.  My dreams and nightmares came together in one moment when Bailey said, "Mom can I sew the birthday banner?  I haven't been able to sew for a long time."  Next she'll be wanting to sew all the time and where will that leave me?

All the Sewing Ladies

All the sewing ladies, (repeat 7 times.)
Now bind your quilts up.
'Cause if you liked it then you shoulda put some thread in it, (repeat)
don't be mad 'cause I went and put some thread in it,
just be glad that I went and put some thread in it.
Sew, sew, sew, sew, sew, sew...

After much deliberation, endless internet searches and trips to the sewing centers, my brand new Pfaff Select 4.0 sewing machine arrived today.  I am so thankful to all the friends and family who gave me money just for this purpose.   I already have three quilts started (in my mind at least) and more sewing projects for the future.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!

May the Parade Road Rise Up to Meet You

Walking to the parade route

By order of the Queen a pic of  Lovelin and me.

Some crazy girls we picked up on the street.
Well folks, we survived St. Patrick's Day numero 2.  Once again we were treated to RK and Lovelin's good food and hospitality.  After the parade we made our way to the McGlynn's house for hearty Irish stew and fellowship with all the other foreigners.  Countries represented:  the USA, Brazil, India, Canada, Germany and South Africa.

photos courtesy of Davis Karnes. All 443 of them.  I'm not kidding.

Great Expectations

We can't wait to see what the rest of the garden reveals over the next few months.

Worth It

These are the chips that were SO worth the 2.68 Euro we paid for them.

This is our neighbor Josh who is all sports all the time.

This is Josh's little sister Katy who is "hungry because she didn't get a treat after dinner."
We have been blessed by great neighbors, James and Amanda and their children Andrew (who you'll meet later), Josh and Katy.  You'll see in the photo Katy's gold star for her excellent work today at school.  She is 3 and I am more than happy to give her whatever treats we have on hand.  This family has been so welcoming from the get go and we are very thankful for their friendship and help.  When we ask them any question they go out of their way to give us the answer or find it for us.  We have accosted them several times in the yard about trash collection:  when?, what? and how?  We look forward to getting to know them more and more in the future.

Seriously, you packed all that?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen we did pack all that stuff. In 27 crates. Some of which fared better than others. As a shameless plug for Gorilla Tape, oh yes they did, Davis ripped skin off his fingers and I ripped a hole in my glove trying to get that stuff off the boxes. I think our friends at NASA should take note. Now that we have most everything unpacked and put away we are beginning to feel more and more at home. Besides, when you have a silver Razorback tray what more do you need?

Midweek

Every Wednesday night the Northsiders have midweek Bible study.  For the next two months it is at our house.  Here are some pictures of our first one.  Our house allows for 14-20 to sit comfortably.  It reminds me of having a house full of college students except maybe college students are louder.
