AL-A -BAMAAAAA!

No, I have not fallen victim to "The Tide," but who can say that state without hearing sports announcer guy in your mind? Alas, I cannot. Here are a few more signs that we have landed way below the Mason-Dixon Line if not geographically then certainly culturally:

Macaroni and cheese is considered a vegetable.
NASCAR is on TV speed dial.
The big orange 'T' does not stand for Texas around here.
Fried brownie bites make the dessert menu even when you are not at craft fair/carnival.
The Battle Hymn of the Republic is a popular song in church- a kickback to that Northern Aggression thing.

Seriously, the Central church has been very kind and welcoming toward us. The whole church is very excited about the summer elementary program on Wed. nights. We have a lot of neighbors with kids so Davis and Bailey have not been bored. In fact, the church might have to relinquish a bus for us to bring all our new friends. All in all, we are settling in and feeling more at home.

  1. Welcome to the blog world! We're excited to follow your blog and can't wait to see more entries. Why are we not surprised that you all already have met enough people to fill a church bus?
